Project Coordinator

Berna is studying at Middle East Technical University in Ankara , Turkey and will going to get a degree of Food Engineering at January 2008.

Berna has been involved in Engelsiz ODTU Student's Society (University Without Barriers) activities since 2004 in her university and was its president between 2005-2007. Berna participated in local and international projects on disability, human rights, and leadership issues which are opened a way to her to work on this project . She also worked as a team member of IFHOHYP Study Session 2007: “ Developing leadership skills and necessary competences with hard of hearing youth – getting strong in the future” which was held in Budapest , Hungary and run in with cooperation of Council of Europe. She has profound hearing loss and can follow conversations by lip-reading. Berna can speak Turkish and English.

Okan Kubus

Technical Team Member

Okan is research assistant in the Technology Support Office at METU (Middle East Technical University) and graduate student in Cognitive Sciences at Informatics Institute. He is profoundly and pre-lingually deaf, knows Turkish Sign Language (TID) and can understand Turkish and English well. He is also a member in Engelsiz ODTU Student's Society (University Without Barriers) Student Club.

İpek SARIOZ

After 1 year education of Industrial Design,İpek is a Chemical Engineering student for 2 years at METU in Ankara,Turkiye. İpek is a member of Engelsiz ODTU Student's Society(University Without Barriers) for 2 years.She can speak Turkish and English.

Nursen GUMUSAY

Team Member Responsible from Public Relations

Nursen graduaded from Istanbul -Yildiz Technical University. Currently, she has been working at a telecomunication company in Istanbul. She has attended various seminars on personal development such as "Extra Ordinary Life Skills" ,"Personal Financial Management", ''To Learn How To Learn'', '' To Overcome Inertia''  etc.

She has a hearing loss. She enjoys sharing her experiences about   the  education and business life with other people through writing articles, taking part in the related projects and etc.. She prepared a website relate to/for hard of hearing people in 2004, gave a seminar about 'Hard of Hearing in Business Life' in December 2006 at METU and, recently, she attended a workshop held in Budapest on Sep 16-22, 2007 on the problems of HoH people from European Countries.

AYSE CİKLAYEDEKCİ

Ayse gratuated from Middle East Technical University, B.S. Chemistry, in 2000. She has been working at BP Global Energy-Turkey as Quality Management Representative since 2004. She has physical disability (right arm amputee).She wants to improve of awareness on disabled people in social,especially in education and business life.

She attended; 3 rd International WILD 2006 (Women Institutes on Leadership and Disability) by MIUSA-August 2006. And she is also alumni Member of METU Disability Support Coordination Unit, leader of “Disability is Life” Study Group in METU Alumni Association of Istanbul and member of Scholarship Study Group and Social Activities Group in METU Alumni Association of Istanbul
